Thanksgiving Turkey (More Information)

This is a very basic turkey recipe that relies on the other ingredients and multiple cooking methods to maxmize the flavor. For starters, the boiling heats the chicken evenly and more gently than other cooking methods. Also, boiling it with sweet potatoes, carrots, onions and celery will spread the flavors of those ingredients into the turkey.

The next step in the process, the baking, will finish the cooking and also brown up the turkey. The chicken broth that goes in with this is mostly to keep the turkey from sticking to the pan during cooking. However, it will add in a little bit of flavor. By this point though, the majority of flavor is already in the turkey.
