Seeing Red

With beef for substance, tomatoes for richness and beets for something a little different (plus sweetness), this recipe can help you from eating the same foods over and over and over and...over. It will also end up being incredibly red, hence the name we've chosen for the recipe.

Needs

  1. 1 pound ground beef
  2. 1 cup tomatoes (diced)
  3. 1 beet
 

TIME

  1. 20-30 minutes

SERVES

  1. 2-3 servings

Cooking it up

  1. Begin by boiling the beet to soften it. Once softened, but not cooked, remove from the water and cut into thin slices or chunks.
  2. While the beet is cooking, begin cooking up the beef. Once the beef is half cooked add in the tomatoes.
  3. After the tomatoes have been mixed in, and the beet is cut, add the beet in with the tomato and the beef. Let that cook together until the beet is tender and the beef is done.
